Fairy Tail 468 “Star Memory” Summary：

 

Aquarius' return is cause for much jubilation for Lucy, the two friends sharing an emotional reunion; however, the Celestial Spirit mentions that her current visit is possible thanks to the Celestial Spirit King's power and that her key has actually been reborn in a random location in Earth Land. Aquarius then greets Brandish and the two converse playfully, revealing that the time they spent together when Grammi was the caretaker of the Water Bearer's key has resulted in Brandish respecting Aquarius as her master. Despite this, Brandish refuses to forgive Lucy, accusing her mother of having killed her own. In order to resolve her misconception, Aquarius transports everybody in the room to Star Memory, an archive created by the Celestial Spirits to record all of their memories.

The two humans are shown significant events of the past related to the Heartfilia Clan, their guide providing an explanation for each one. They witness the formulation of the 400-year plan to defeat Acnologia by sending Dragon Slayers to the future with the help of the Eclipse Gate, which was opened by Layla Heartfilia in X777. But, unable to contact Grammi, Layla was unable to recover Aquarius' key and was forced to use her own power as compensation, which led to her contracting Magic Deficiency Disease. Grammi was ridden with guilt upon learning this and visited her former master to return her charge, claiming inadequacy to handle something so important. However, Layla reassured her that she was not at fault and the two friends promised to have their daughters meet. Unfortunately, this was not to be as Grammi was murdered on her way home by a miserable Zoldeo, who believed that the woman had betrayed their former master.

As these memories unfold before Brandish's very eyes, the Shield of Spriggan is unable to hold back her tears and begins to weep profusely the moment they return to the infirmary, only to be pulled into a tight embrace by Lucy, who hopes that the two can forge as great a friendship between them as existed between their mothers. Glad to see this touching scene, Aquarius is about to reveal more information when Happy bursts into the room, pleading for somebody to help his unconscious partner as he stands distraught over Natsu's unmoving body.
