New Shingeki no Kyojin Live-Action Films Stills Release

The July issue of Kodansha's Bessatsu Shōnen Magazine released new stills from the Shingeki no Kyojin live-action films, adapted from Hajime Isayama's manga.

The cast includes seven live-action original character. Hasegawa's character Shikishima is the key character of the films' story as "humanity's strongest man".

 

The film director Director Shinji Higuchi mentioned that the story is based on the world and characters of the manga with new characters and new dangerous enemies. Yuusuke Watanabe (Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods, live-action Gantz, Gantz II: Perfect Answer, 20th Century Boys, Gatchaman) is in charge of scripts. Isayama's friend Tomohiro Machiyama, a film critic, also participated in the script with Isayama and Watanabe. 

 

The band SEKAI NO OWARI performed the first and second films' theme songs "Anti-Hero" and "SOS," respectively.

 

The first film will be released in Japan on August 1, and the second film, Shingeki no Kyojin: End of the World, will be released on September 19.

 

Isayama's Shingeki no Kyojin manga series began in Kodansha's Bessatsu Shōnen Magazine on September 9, 2009. It has four spin-off manga, an anime adaptation aired in 2013 and a second season is confirmed to be released in 2016, a two-part live-action film adaptation.
