Ichijinsha sat up a website to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Minekura Kazuya's Saiyuki manga. The site content confirmed that Saiyuki Reload Blast will have a anime adaptation. The following video revealed this news.

The video also shows that a "Saiyuki Festa 2017" event will be held at the Makuhari Messe event hall in Chiba from January 7th to 8th, which featured an exhibition of the manga's original art.

Saiyuki series was serialized from 1997. The story is loosely based on the Chinese novel Journey to the West. Saiyuki Reload Blast is the sequel to Minekura's Saiyuki and Saiyuki Reload manga series. The original Saiyuki manga inspired several OVA and anime adaptations.
