Chihayafuru Anime’s Second Season Confirmed

According to the wraparound jacket band on the 17th volume of Chihayafuru manga, which will go on sale on June 13, a second anime season has been conformed. So far no other information including release date was announced.

Chihayafuru is written and illustrated by Yuki Suetsugu. The story is about a school girl named Chihaya Ayase, who’s not especially good at anything in particular. Her dream has always been for her sister (an aspiring model) to become the number one beauty of Japan, or perhaps of the world. But then one day she meets someone who tells her that a dream is something that should concern only herself -- and something she has to work hard for as well.

The manga has won the Manga Taisho Award and the Kodansha Manga Award. It already inspired a 25-episode television anime season from October 2011 to March 2012.
