Attack on Titan Live-Action Series' Trailer Streamed

The official website for Shingeki no Kyojin ~ Hangeki no Noroshi ~ (Attack on Titan: Counterattack’s Beacon), the live-action series based on Hajime Isayama’s Attack on Titan manga and its live-action movie adaptations, released a trailer on Friday. It announced that the show’s theme song “Hangeki no Ha” (Blade of Counterattack) will sing by Wagakki Band.

 



Shingeki no Kyojin ~ Hangeki no Noroshi ~”, the prequel series ties in with the two live-action movies, will have three 30-minute episodes and stream on Docomo’s revamped steaming video service dTV on August 15.

The series will tell a new story about the everyday lives and secrets of soldiers, especially Hanji’s “Titan research” and the origin story of the 3D maneuver gear. Satomi Ishihara will star the series, and reprise her role as Hanji from the two live-action movies.

The following cast will also reprise their roles:
Nanami Sakuraba as Sasha
Shu Watanabe as Fukushi
Rina Takeda as Lil
Ayame Misaki as Hiana
Additionally, Yuta Hiraoka as a new character Izuru

Isayama’s original Attack on Titan manga first serialized in Bessatsu Shonen Magazine in 2009, and has inspired four spinoff manga, a 25-episode TV anime, and two compilation anime movies. In addition, a second season of the TV anime series is set to be released in 2016.

The live-action movie adaptation will span two movies. Shinji Higuchi is the director, while Yuusuke Watanabe and movie critic Tomohiro Machiyama write the script.

The first live-action movie Attack on Titan movie’s worldwide premiere was hosted in Hollywood on July 14. The movie will open in Japan on Saturday, and the second movie, Attack on Titan: End of the World, will open on September 19.
